OWWA EDSP Scholarship Program 2024: The Overseas Worker Welfare Administration provides scholarship grants under the Education for Development Scholarship Program. Through the OWWA EDSP Scholarship Program, the scholarship is offered to qualified individuals who are dependents of Overseas Filipino Workers. Who is Qualified for the OWWA Education for Development Scholarship Program?

The following are the required eligibility criteria for the OWWA EDSP Scholarship Program:

Children of an active OWWA members or a siblings of a single active OWWA member who are:

  • Incoming Senior High School (Grade 12):
    • Individuals must have scored a minimum of 80% General Weighted Average (GWA) without failing grades upon application.
    • They must have qualified the qualifying exam which is typically conducted by the Department of Science and Technology and belongs to the top 400 passers nationwide.
  • Incoming Freshmen (1st year college):
    • Individuals must be single.
    • They must be 11th grade graduate (Incoming Grade 12 / currently enrolled as Grade 12)
    • They must be 21 years old or less to apply for the program.
    • The General Weighted Average (GWA) of beneficiaries must be 80% or higher. In case, GWA is not yet available during the filing of the application, the officials will consider the academic performance of the applicant for the two consecutive preceding school years as the basis for the evaluation.
    • Individuals must belong to the top 400 qualifiers of the DST i.e., Department of Science and Technology national qualifying exam.
  •  Individuals who are already enrolled in 2nd year to 5th year in college:
    • They must not be more than 30 years old
    • Their GWA must not be less than a B letter grade or 85% equivalence in all academic and non-academic subjects during the last school year attended in full load.
